BeamDown puts custom terrain building in the palm of your hand with no 3D modelling experience required.
The browser-based interface is sleek, easy to use and packed with tools specifically made for custom building tabletop terrain. The system automatically controls which parts are compatible so you can concentrate on what’s important; generating terrain that fits your narrative.
BeamDown lets you drag and drop core structural components such as walls, platforms and flooring. These are then built upon using additive components and features such as wall panels, pipes, battle damage, defense systems, consoles, widgets and more!

It’s packed with essential building components, structural frameworks and thematic models created to match your individual gameplay style and narrative.

An evolving eco-system:
Beamdown is a dynamic platform designed to grow. Over time the library of assets will expand and you’ll be able to add them to your collection. We are aiming to create new assets based on a mix of community requests, our artists own creations, and themes that fit specific table top games.
Powered by a dynamic, custom built back-end, the development team has created a cloud-based system that is built for fast expansion. By becoming a founding member of BeamDown, you receive access to an ever-growing asset library which currently hosts around 2,000 assets and we’re just getting started!
Information:
General Information – You will receive access to the BeamDown software platform which exports STL files for 3D printed terrain. By backing this project, we grant you a single user, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for your personal use which may include 3D printing. You may not copy, share, create derivatives, digitally modify, reverse engineer, sub-license, lend, rent or sell the product or it’s assets or exported files in digital or physical form. You may not claim ownership of the assets, the product or it’s likeness. Intellectual property and copyright remains exclusive property of Saucermen Studios.
Changes & Improvements – Please note that BeamDown is constantly being improved by the design & development team. As a result, the sets, stretch goals, terrain bundles, individual models software features and U.I elements shown prior to launch may look different once distributed.
Will fantasy terrain be available? – Yes, we have this planned! The focus for the first release is Sci-fi but we aim to make fantasy assets available on the platform later down the line.
What happened to 12 months of unlimited STL exports? – Based on feedback from the community, we have decided to make STL exporting unlimited for the life of the platform! Except for commercial licences, this means no 12 month limits or follow up subscriptions. After the Kickstarter we will be selling additional asset packs for you to add to your asset library.
Can I import my own STL files? – Currently you cannot import external files into BeamDown but we are looking into this feature.
Can I print in resin? – Terrain is best suited to FDM printing however we aim to include remeshing tools that are better suited to resin printing.
What software / hardware do I need to run BeamDown? – BeamDown runs in a web browser on Windows & Mac, so most modern Desktop computers and laptops should be sufficient. Touch controls on mobile devices such as phones and tablets will not be supported immediately upon launch but we aim to add that very soon.
Can I sell my designs or STL files? – No, all BeamDown assets are the intellectual property of Saucermen Studios. You cannot sell, distribute or modify BeamDown assets, exported STL files or physical prints, however ‘print & sell’ commercial licences are available.
When is BeamDown launching? – Q1 2023 is the scheduled launch date. Core systems have been implemented but more polish is required.
How many STL files can I export? – Kickstarter backers will have ongoing, unlimited STL exports for their Kickstarter sets and stretch goals. This is for the life of the platform. This overrides the “12 Months Unlimited STL Exports for these sets” as listed in the non-commercial pledges 🙂
